Week 3, Day 6
First, apparently I've turned into Sherlock's "partner" and yes, we're letting people take it as they want. I don't see a need to correct them when we're supposed to be Conan's "parents". And I haven't changed my name at all - it just doesn't matter. Sure I get strange looks when I tell people I'm Dr. John Watson but I tell them my parents were fans of the books and it's done. It helps that I need less documents for my identity to actually get a job anywhere. Conan's friend, Agasa, helped with the whole paperwork thing as well.
I've taken up cooking lessons from another of his friends, Ran. That started our first week here when she caught me on the street bringing home takeaway. My time on the ship has shown me that I could do with working on that part of my skills. We meet a couple times a week in between my job, her schooling and the murders. Sherlock says he can cook but honestly, I shouldn't depend on him - he hardly eats as it is and we practically lived off takeaway or Mrs. Hudson's food before. I'm not an expert but I've gotten better. No more burning the food anymore or over/under cooking it.
When I do get free time I'm usually looking for things to put into our emergency bags. We may not be able to use certain things like electronics when they die but they'll be good for a while. Thankfully my time in the military has taught me how to pack a lot in small bags. We'll be prepared if/when we go back.
Note to self: pack a pair of scrubs.
