Hm, all of them were generous in their own ways.

[If he sat here listing all of Conan's friends, John would be at it for an hour.]

He knows a lot of people I take it.

Honestly I was surprised when we went to get groceries and we didn't get stopped by someone he knew. That only happened once. Not just in Beika either, but other prefectures. Apparently he was living with a detective for a time who often went around and got involved in a lot of cases.

Yes, he mentioned as much to me before he moved in. I must admit, I'm a bit curious about that detective.

No. Absolutely not. You are not allowed to be curious about him. Just... think of him like Anderson and be done with your curiosity.

[ That's an interesting reaction. ]

So you've met him then. If he's like Anderson then it's hard to imagine he managed to solve any case on his own.

[ Oh of course. ]

It's been Conan the whole time, hasn't it?

[Yes, yes it is.]

I've met him. He manages on occasion but he's certainly not going to get it as quick as you or other people might. Put him on a case with you and of course you're going to solve it first, notice things before he does but I don't think he's downright terrible. [How to put it.] Let's just say that he has the sort of personality that even I wouldn't want to hang around him for longer than absolutely necessary.

[And that's saying something considering John is constantly around people who rub most others wrong.]

From what I understand, yes, most of the time it's been Conan.

[ But John is so patient. It's hard to wrap his head around the idea that there's anyone that he couldn't manage to get a long with that isn't an exceptional dangerous member of the criminal class. ]

He's really that bad? I think that's worse than Anderson. [ And Anderson has... changed. He's not sure if he likes it. ]

[Exactly! John deals with Sherlock and Mycroft and Anderson and Donovan and others on a regular basis and he would not spend an extend amount of time with Korogo.]

Maybe. I honestly don't know if he's like that all of the time but I'm not sure I could wait around long enough to find out. [As for Anderson changing, well, he's only just started down that road from John's point of view.]
