Week 22 Day 2

[It's taken quite a lot of suffering to reach this point, but Zelos finally snaps enough to give it a shot. Through text, that is... He doesn't really feel up to face to face conversation. But maybe something can be figured out.

MESSAGE: Headaches, blurred vision, shakiness, some hallucinations, and I'm pretty sure I can usually keep my cool without getting this violent. I thought I'd stop for a day but it's getting worse.

[It's not really. Not with everything else going on and he is glad Zelos contacted him about it. Look, he won't even say "I told you so" and be professional about this.]

How many of the syringes have you used?

...I wasn't exactly counting. I've been going out every day the past week, and with over a handful of fights each day it's hard to keep track.

[He may have killed someone for one. Just not gonna mention that though.]

Probably withdrawal. You're addicted to the stuff like everyone else is. The more you use, the more you want. If you stop now it'll get worse before it gets better. But stopping will not be easy.

I don't think this 'holding back' thing is working. You know others on this stuff right?

You may require help if you intend to kick the stuff. But you're dangerous.

I haven't examined any of them since we realized the affects of the stuff.

And I know I'm dangerous, which is why the only help I'm getting is your oh-so-helpful advice right now. Can it seriously just be withdrawal if there's actual pain?

Probably.

I imagine so, considering some of those can alter your physical being with the changes it does to you. What sort of ability did it give you?

Nothing new. There was just the stuff that acted like mana, and the stuff that was more like a power boost: pure ADAM or whatever you want to call it. That stuff was worse than the EVE.

It probably doesn't matter. Detox of any sort is painful as is withdrawal. That's why most keep doing it.

My best medical opinion: find a room to lock yourself in until you come out clean. It'll stop you from hurting yourself and others.

[John is wading in unknown waters with this EVE and ADAM stuff but he knows it's unhealthy and should not be used.]

...I thought about it, but I can't say I'm really comfortable being a sitting duck for any creatures that happen to pass by.

If you find a location secure enough you won't have to worry about them. Eventually you're going to have to stop and it'll be better if you do it sooner rather than later.

It isn't that easy!

[Irritation overrides the logic that John had said it wouldn't be easy. That he got that much. He nearly throws the compass across the ground, but ends up throwing his arm and keeping a firm clutch on it as he slams his fist int a wall. Damn it. Losing his cool wasn't his style, and neither was manning up and dealing with things like this.

It was pretty much at the point where he wasn't sure how to handle this.

He had expected consequences, sure, but this...]

I know. It's going to be difficult. Probably one of the most difficult thing you've ever done. You might feel like you're dying. But you're still rational right now, something you won't have if you keep using.

A doctor with military experience, but you seem pretty knowledgeable on dealing with someone going through this kinda stuff. Why's that?

It's necessary. Plenty of addicts will attempt to scam a hospital for drugs.

But sure. You really need info on calming down addicts so you can talk them out of their scams.
