Week 16, Day 1
Look up.
SH
I thought I'd officially gone round the bend just seeing it. Thought it was a joke or maybe even a nightmare. So I looked up and he stood there.
Bloody Sherlock Holmes. A dead man.
A dead man who's grave I'd been standing in front of not ten minutes ago was looking down at me from a damn crane and all I could picture was that day at Barts. Needless to say -- I decked him when he came close. For being a damn idiot. It certainly proved that he was real, that everything was real. He explained to me a little bit and I suppose I can understand, though I'm still a bit miffed.
There were other things I learned about this ship, unbelievable things. It's not just magic they've got her but monsters and the ability to bring the dead back to life. I've been told that there's a price to pay for dying though, usually temporary but I started thinking. Sherlock had walked with a limp, a cane and an odd noise that could be from a prosthetic. Was it just a case of severely bad luck or had he actually died and permanently lost his leg?
I went below deck after that, curious to see where my assigned bunk was and who I'd be sharing it with. Ivan seemed fairly friendly, if not a bit overly armed. Didn't think I'd feel safe sleeping there anyway and of course that's when he came sweeping in. Apparently Sherlock's got a shipping container in the hold area. Imagine my surprise when there's a kid living in it with him. A bloody kid living with Sherlock Holmes! And a sick one at that. Looks like we'll be sharing space with Conan Edogawa. Between all of that and volunteering my time down at the clinic things will be pretty interesting.
Week 16, Day 7
Somehow both Conan and Sherlock managed to get themselves stuck to other people. Even though neither of them ate anything at the dinner. And if you're reading this because you nicked my things again this is the point where I'll say that it was damn hilarious. Shouldn't have let her get that close. Also, use your own device.
Still, it seems I've managed to get myself a few patients in the last week. There's no telling if they'll become my permanent patients but I've got to look into getting some sort of documentation going for at least two of them. Suppose I could write it down in my journal for now. Could use my phone but the power won't last forever on it.
Met a couple of my other colleagues as well. Two doctors and a healer who uses magic. She asked for lessons but I don't think I'll be teaching her anything involving surgery. Looks like she might have a weak stomach for it. Also, our gracious hosts have given us vouchers for filling out their silly survey. Haven't exactly decided what to get yet so I suppose I'll hang on to it for now. Might come in handy later when Sherlock's driving me up the wall with his tendency to get bored.
NO CLUEDO!
Week 17, Day 5
God, I can't wait for this week to be over. Half the ship's gone mental and is trying to kill the other half. I really don't like having a sword shoved into my shoulder or having to fix a broken leg on a seven year old or being threatened by a gun by my bloody best friend or finding said friend's body lying dead in a container on my way to fix up another kid who was dying.
The nightmares are back. Didn't sleep at all last night.
Anyway, seems the numbers we were all labeled with at the beginning of the week is the number of deaths a person's experienced. The higher the number, the more they feel they have to inflict us Zeros with death as well. Bloody hell, if this was my proper blog I don't think I would have written that bit of information.
I need a strong drink.
Week 18, Day 2
Heaven forbid they let me get a good night's sleep.
Definitely considering throwing things at them both next time.
Week 18, Day 5
This week we've been given some supplies: sheets, soap, food, other various things. And wine.
Crates and crates of wine.
I've got a few stashed away in one of the containers near us along with some other things. There wasn't any room to put it in ours, not with Maya joining us in the container. It was easier to keep an eye on her progress, plus it means she's got someone around. I cook for us and she eats more then either Sherlock and Conan do. And I've been helping Rory out in the clinic now that everyone's mostly sane again.
Got a gift from one of my patients, Ms. Stone. It was a bottle of wine. One I could have gotten for myself, yes, but I wouldn't have felt right taking something important or costly. Never really have.
With the addition of Maya the container is feeling a bit crowded but it wouldn't be too bad if she wasn't having so many guests. Suppose that's what it's like to room with someone with a lot of close friends. Either way, a break is needed from the space tonight. Sherlock could probably do with one too. Time to break out some of that wine I stashed earlier.
Week 19, Day 4
Felt like I was in Afghanistan again.
Texted Sherlock about it and he rushed right down to investigate. Said the likely culprit was the man who hangs about the morgue, Albert Wesker. I'd like to have a few words with him if that's true.
Week 20, Day 7
Sherlock Holmes knows how to make text bunnies.
More importantly, he taught it to someone! It was something everyone will remember, that's for certain. Of course, Sherlock was in a bit of a foul mood after. He shot his bloody gun in the container and I had to confiscate it from him before the ricochet killed him or deafened him. God knows we'd all have to text him in order for him to get anything if that happened.
Honestly, I can't blame everyone from being a bit bored considering the ship's dead in the water. One of the higher-ups from COMPASS decided to pay a visit and torture the engineer and left us dead in the water. Don't ask how they can torture a ghost because I've no idea. So far there are loads of people working on fixing the engines. Taught Rory how to make drinkable water out of sea water. Apparently he has an alien friend. Makes me wonder if Sherlock is really from another planet.
Hopefully they fix the engines soon because the storm is getting worse and we're a giant sitting duck. Conan's already had an accident and ended up with a concussion. Had to pick him from the clinic and Morgana wouldn't let him go without talking to Rory first. Need to have a talk with him about safety.
Week 21, Day 1
Inside there was a small submarine, which is where I'm writing this from. The trip is rather long and I sincerely hope there's actually something at the end of this trip except water. The voice over the speaker is calling it Rapture. I suspect whatever we find down there, it won't be pleasant, knowing COMPASS.
One thing I will not be surprised at is if my Compass goes missing seeing as how Sherlock is staring at this over my shoulder as I write it. Feels like old times.
Week 21, Day 4
It's not pleasant. It's as far from pleasant as one can get. Sherlock would have a word for this but he's off somewhere being a bloody idiot. Turns out Rapture has drugs capable of giving someone magical abilities and, of course, Sherlock's taken it. We've no idea what the long-term affects of EVE or ADAM will even do to a person. Not unless the natives are what we have to look forward to, which is very not good. They're completely mad. All they care about is their next fix of the damn drug and violence. I'm surprised they can even talk.
And Sherlock's not the only one being an idiot. Zelos and a whole lot of others are as well. Using these drugs to boost their own abilities or to gain new ones.
Sherlock and I even had a row over taking it. He wouldn't see reason and I got pissed. Actually walked away from him and haven't looked back. Even told him that I wouldn't have anything to do with it.
So I've turned my attention elsewhere. Scrounging for supplies and the such. When we leave this place I'm going to be ready.
Week 22, Day 4
In other news, we're still in Rapture. Our second week here and we even got new arrivals. Didn't really talk to many of them but I did speak to one interesting woman on the train. Bit odd, honestly.
Also Zelos contacted me about his drug use. Tried to keep it professional but that didn't last. Still, at least he came to me when he had an issue. Saw Alayne last week too, forgot to mention that bit. She seemed depressed so I gave her busy work. She was surprised that I could use a gun.
We may be out of here soon, if we can help those Little Girls. Not sure if it's true or not but I suppose we'll see.
Week 23, Day 5
Also, I might've joined the Cleaning Brigade. No I know I did. Really cleaning was sort of a necessity this week considering the ship was resurrected from the depths of the ocean and all that came with it. I started in the clinic seeing as how it's important to keep people from getting worse when they come there.
More of Conan's friends went home and I learned some about his life in Japan. I must say, I'm not all that impressed and I'll leave it at that.
Week 24, Day 3
It all started with Captain James Kirk and Mr. Spock mistook Sherlock for Khan. Khan of all people. Granted he's got the intelligence but not the sturdiness as we've found out. Before any of us could even blink Mr. Spock had dislocated Sherlock's jaw. Needless to say none of us were pleased. The misunderstanding was cleared up but I don't think it's soothed any sulky attitudes.
Needless to say I really did not expect to see any fictional characters or end up meeting them. Turns out...I'm fictional in someone's world too. Not sure how I feel about that but there it is.
In other news, I've got myself a codename. It's Medico. The other codename I was given was just rubbish.
Week 24, Day 7
Turns out it could.
We've been locked into our assigned rooms and told to choose one person to sacrifice or they'd kill off one of the kids. Surprisingly, everyone in my room decided to offer themselves up. I don't believe all the rooms will be the same though. All communications are cut off so we can't even talk to other people.
Apparently, people are going to start thinking Sherlock, Conan and I are a family - a real proper family. I suppose we sort of are. Not like that -- oh, right no one's here to read that and make untruthful comments.
Week 25, Day 6
When the battle was done the ship was ours. Sort of. Those with the know-how went to work on the machine in an attempt to get us all off this ship. Hopefully they'll figure it out before we get dragged into another battle. For the time being I've set up a station near the machine to tend to any patients should they need it if it does come down to fighting.
As it turns out...Kirk is sick. As in, probably dying slowly sort of sick. Rory told him it was radiation poisoning and I know we haven't got anything to treat that. Seems the movies were wrong about which one of them got caught in the radiation chamber. I don't think there will be any scientific regrowth here if Kirk dies. Hopefully, where ever he goes will have proper treatment for him.
Week 26, Day 7
Then John (aka MacGuyver) was slashed up like someone attempted to turn him into the Joker. Had to stitch him up too. Needless to say, I was up to my elbows in the blood of children this week. I'll be glad when we can all leave this place.
Which won't be until later tonight so this is technically my last blog written on board the Charon. It's eerily quiet here, what with most of the people gone. I've already decided I'm not going back - not to a flat by myself. Instead I'm going home with Conan and dragging Sherlock along. He's still healing and could use the help.
Not really sure how "bitten by dinosaur" would go over for when he needs treatment.
